I relied more and more on British troops to hold the line, with the Dutch providing the mobile reserve. I was getting good XP during the battles, but I was having serious MP issues towards the end. WHat I had to do towards end of 1941 was to pull most all of my Dutch troops from the front lines because I lacked the MP to reinforce them anymore. It was a stressful game, but one of the more fun ones I have played.

Your leadership is also painfully low, and your starting techs are atrocious (funny, since Dutch subs were by-far the best in the world, their cruisers and destroyers weren't bad, and they had finished designs for a series of battlecruisers by the time the game starts, yet their techs in that area are really bad), so you'll be relying on licensed builds for most of the war. The Netherlands can also barely mobilize the army it starts with, so there isn't much room to grow, let alone conquer other nations. There's no 'if' about that, Germany will come for you, and you won't get much in the way of help from either Allies or Comintern since the game is set up to practically force an early German victory in the west. I say that, because Germany is scripted to attack you if you aren't in the Axis. If you focus on anything other than surviving with as small an area as possible around Amsterdam then you've already lost. You won't get very far unless you join the Axis, which requires a bit of cheating in order to get close enough to that corner of the triangle. So, its OK, isn't it?ДЄlso, you could suggest some original ideas for trading and rising relations, cause relations could speed up drifting inside the Triangle. But on the other side, this time we need to drop our neutrality. It could take about a year to shift down into opposite angle and join Axis or Commintern. In the beginning Netherlands is close to Allies, so Allies could be simple to join. So, what could be my best espionage strategy?ДЄlso, need to note Policy Triangle here. Third way is to grow German threat for rapid joining Axis and some others threat, for the moment after joining. Also, UK and France are very good for tech stealing, so I would like to get techs from them, not threat. Another way is to grow threat of UK or France. The problem is, when we join Axis, we'll lose German threat and will back to neutrality 40%. The easiest way is to rise German threat (we can rise it by ~20% by '37), and it's good enough to join Axis in late '36 or early '37. The problem is, that Belgium or any other small country is very hard to grow their threat. So, if I increase threat of Belgium by 15%, I could join any alliance (about Policy Triangle see below). So CurrentNeutrality=BaseNeutrality - MaximalThreatToUs. Neutrality could be lowered by increasing other threat. To DoW any country we need OurNeutrality=TheirThreat(+25 if Axis). With 'prepare to war' we get -60% in Oct'36. Spain and Portugal could be tasty, but hard to eat. Also, is it worth to annex them? I doubt because of overseas modifier. Only Cuba, Haiti, Dominicama and Equador could be DoWed safely. Almost everything is under USA protection. It's attractive idea to conquer Australia and NZ, but they are very close to UK, so is it possible to attack them and not to fight with UK?ДЄmerica. But they are far way, hard to grow their threat, if needed and hard terrain could eat time and MP. My biggest wish, but it's under UK protection. But while Norway could be taken fast, Sweden and Finland could take a lot of time and manpower.Д«altic states - good addition to Scandinavia but I expect strong resistance while achievements are negligible.Д«elgium. But USSR is far away, and I doubt they help in case of emergency.Дenmark and all Scandinavia seems good for early war due to little distance from home. Also, war with allies will ruin connection with DEIДЄllies makes convoys safe, but its harder to DoW somebody. But Germany also is best way to expand and the easiest way to grow threat. The first question - which side should I choose?ДЄxis make easier wars (+25 to threat) and solid partners.

I plan to rapidly expand and become major. We start we 100 neutrality, good relations with most europeans 75-85, but cool with majors (UK, France, USSR, Germany - 0, I think because of WWI and releasing Belgium) I want to discuss with you a fate of Netherlands in 1936 (TFH)
